Hi.
Wow, blairette, you have restored me to community-posting after a chasmic lapse.

I have been glooming about being so useless to friends who are depressed or distraught (not at all looking at anyone in particular), because, you know, I've been there, I should know what to say. But I don't. Sometimes I don't even know what *not* to say.

So, do you guys think seeing/hearing "tragedy" in the semi-traditional sense provisions any kind of a "catharsis" (whatever your personal reading of that is) of emotions of pity and fear?

I'm not a goth, so this isn't a goth rant, right??

Incidentally, listening to Marlene Dietrich singing about how sie kann lieben nur, und sonst gar nichts hasn't exactly been uplifting....I wonder if there's a community at liebeskummer already
*goes to look*

Try hearing John Beal sing it... he does a great Blaue Engel impression.

I don't think it counts as a true goth rant unless you use either capslock or italics, use phrases like "winter of discontent and suffering," and try to make your inner angst rhyme.

I'm absolutely useless at the latter. Woe is me, etc.

Jessikast did some wonderful soliloquising on the darkness that is her SOUL. Undoubtedly humorous, given her irrepressible love of puppies, chocolate etc.
I might be tempted to try my hand at a little pseudo-rant...
